“Mahabharat” is an Indian Hindi-language epic television series based on the ancient Sanskrit epic Mahabharata.  The epic Mahabharata is considered the “Fifth Veda” – a spiritual Hindu text, a book of wisdom that contains answers to all life’s questions. It is the longest epic in the world – longer than the “Iliad” and “Odyssey” combined. The authorship of the Mahabharata is attributed to the legendary sage Vyasa, who himself is the protagonist of the legend.

The plot of the series centers on the war between the Pandava and Kaurava clans, belonging to the same dynasty. The series is called the Indian “Game of Thrones”. It became one of the most expensive productions in Bollywood: the production budget was $73 million.

Since 18th March, Russian audience will watch “Mahabharat” on TV Channel “Subbota”.

SATURDAY CHANNEL adapted the script of “Mahabharata” for Russian audience, and the series was re-dubbed by the Cyrillic studio. Experts in Indian culture and language worked on the translation and dubbing: academic Indologists, representatives of traditional Hindu faiths and modern Hindu movements.

Now the series will contain more Vedic wisdom and answers to life’s questions: from the secrets of a happy marriage to the mysteries of the origin of the Universe.
