“SREDA” is a production company, producer of TV programs and series for federal channels and online platforms. It was founded in June 2008 by Alexander Tsekalo. Main type of activity: producer of TV and movie products, distributor.
For 16 years “SREDA” has been a leader in the production of prime series in Russia, the high level of quality of which makes them in demand not only in Russia, but also around the world.
In 2012, the company was the first to get the rights to adapt BBC series, and presented the mystical detective “The Other Side of the Moon” (“Life on Mars” / BBC). The project was successfully aired and was renewed for a second season.
In 2016, SREDA sold the detective-crime series “Silver spoon” to Netflix. For the first time, a Russian multi-part movie appeared on the American online platform. In addition, the project was sold to 7 countries and received more than 15 awards. Later Netflix bought six more projects of the company: “Farza”, “Method”, “Locust”, “Trotsky”, “Sparta” and “Territory”.
In 2017, SREDA created an experimental project – the series “Gogol” was released on big screens for the first time, and it showed the best summer start in the history of domestic film distribution. The mystical detective was acquired for screening by the Amazon platform.
The company’s projects have annually participated in international markets, festivals and competitions. In 2017, the historical drama Trotsky premiered in Cannes as part of the largest audiovisual content market MIPCOM, and in 2018, SREDA presented the psychological drama Trigger. The project became a finalist of the international professional competition of series MIP DRAMA and was sold to 7 countries before airing.
In 2021, a deal was made to sell the format of the series “Silver spoon” to South Korea; in January 2024, a project called “Flex X Cop” was released in Korea on SBS, on Disney+ streaming service, and on Hulu streaming service in the United States. Rights to the adaptation of the TV series “Silver spoon” were sold to the United States, Poland, Spain, India, Serbia – a total of more than 40 countries.
Every year SREDA produces 150 hours of original serial content for leading Russian channels and online platforms. By the end of 2023, the company has in its library 52 TV series with a total duration of more than 450 hours.
