Kaanchli – Life in slough, is about Kajri, an extremely beautiful village belle who believes in traditions. Unfortunately Kajri is married to spineless Kishnu. There comes the time that she has to stand for her values and dignity, when Kishnu suggests she should surrender herself to illicit demand of powerful Thakur of the village. Kajri feels humiliated. Bhoja, even being Thakur’s trusted man, cannot see Kajri’s plight. He falls in love with Kajri. What will Kajri do now? Will she tactfully find her way or surrender or will she depict her strength in order to get her dignity back?
