Katya and Ira enter the maternity hospital at the same time, but by the will of fate, Ira dies during childbirth, and Katya loses her child. Pavel, Ira’s husband, invites Katya to become the nurse of his newborn daughter, and for Katya this becomes a salvation. She becomes attached to the child and Pavel, who helps Katya overcome the grief of loss. Pavel also likes a gentle and charming young woman. Andrew, Katya’s common-law husband, decides to use the situation for personal gain. He blackmails Pavel with information about Katya’s dark past.
