On 24th August, Tricolor’s Xit TV channel premiered the popular Japanese anime series «Fire Force», bringing one of the most successful modern anime franchises to Russian television audiences.
Based on the bestselling manga by Atsushi Ohkubo, «Fire Force» follows Shinra Kusakabe, a young firefighter with extraordinary pyrokinetic abilities who joins Special Fire Force Company 8. Together with his fellow firefighters, he battles mysterious fire monsters threatening the last remaining city in a world devastated by a global catastrophe, while uncovering the secrets behind the mysterious phenomenon of spontaneous human combustion.
First serialized in Weekly Shōnen Magazine between 2015 and 2022, the manga has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. The television adaptation, produced by David Production, premiered in Japan in 2019 and quickly gained an international following thanks to its dynamic animation, action-packed storytelling and distinctive visual style. The third and final season concluded earlier this year.
The arrival of «Fire Force» on Xit reflects the continuing popularity of Japanese anime among Russian audiences. From classic titles to the latest series, anime remains one of the strongest international content genres on Russian television and streaming platforms, attracting loyal viewers across all age groups.
