Indian content is expected to be on the agenda for Russian buyers at the World Content Market – Moscow, as TV channels, OTT platforms and regional distributors continue to diversify their international sourcing and look for high-volume, clearly positioned programming.

India’s production sector offers a wide spread of genres and formats—from mainstream drama and romance to action, thrillers, comedy, kids and factual—often supported by strong packaging options and scalable catalog depth. For Russian and CIS buyers, that combination can be attractive when building libraries that need both recognizable hooks and steady supply.

The April market will bring a concentrated Indian seller presence to Moscow, creating a focused meeting point for acquisition talks, catalogue presentations and partnership discussions. Indian exhibitors at the market include Impossible Films, JioStar India, One Life Studios, Shemaroo Entertainment Limited, and Zee Entertainment, the India Pavilion (MEAI), Hoichoi Technologies and MagicLume Technologies.

With more buyers balancing premium “event” titles against the need for consistent audience engagement, Indian content remains a category that can serve multiple objectives—finished programming acquisitions, package deals, and exploratory conversations around co-operation and longer-term distribution pathways across Russia and the CIS.
