Russian Dorama TV channel, part of the Tricolor, launches a pre‑New Year television marathon of Korean drama premieres. Starting on December 8 and continuing through the end of the year, viewers are treated to a series of high‑profile premieres—iconic series that enjoy popularity both in South Korea and internationally. This initiative highlights the growing presence of Korean content in the Russian media market and the increasing interest in Asian drama among local audiences.

The marathon opens with the historical drama «The Tale of Nokdu», which follows a young man who disguises himself as a woman in the strictly patriarchal society of the Joseon era. Beneath its comedic premise lie serious themes of personal freedom, family obligations, and gender roles.

Next in the lineup is «Tale of A-rang», set against a folkloric Korean backdrop. A government official encounters the ghost of a young woman and helps her uncover the mystery behind her death. The story blends mysticism, detective intrigue, and philosophical reflections on justice and the afterlife.

«The Legend of the Blue Sea», airing in mid‑December, offers a modern interpretation of the mermaid myth. Two souls, whose destinies are intertwined across lifetimes, reunite in present‑day Seoul. Their romance unfolds amid criminal schemes and the theme of reincarnation.

«Love Song for Illusion» follows—a dramatic tale about a prince with a split personality, torn between duty, family legacy, and personal desire.

The marathon concludes with «Secret Royal Inspector & Joy», featuring Ra Yi-eon, the youngest appointee to the prestigious role of royal secret inspector during the Joseon dynasty. Though honored, Yi-eon feels little excitement about his new career. While learning the craft of investigation, he meets Kim Jo-yi, a spirited woman seeking divorce from her unloved husband. Despite the patriarchal norms of the time, Jo-yi shows a natural investigative talent and becomes Yi-eon’s partner in solving crimes.
