Eagerly awaiting the appointment of her teaching job, Dünya lives a simple life with her father Memduh, a security chief at a construction site, her mother, her older sister, and her nieces and nephews in a modest coastal town. Although still hurt by her brother Cihan who left home years ago, she never loses hope of finding him again. Noyan Erim, a ruthless and lawless businessman, has set his sights on a neighborhood in this small town on the southern shores under the guise of urban renewal. Here, he is trapped in a mansion filled with discontent and ambition, living with his wife Meral and their young daughter Idil.
Sinan, his right-hand man, has lived a life of poverty and conflict until one night when he saves Noyan from a car accident, and Noyan takes him under his wing. While achieving the status and wealth he dreamed of since childhood, Sinan also continues to pursue the unresolved losses of his past. Meanwhile, Noyan’s lawyer and sister-in-law, Pelin, becomes obsessed with Sinan, and her fixation gradually turns dangerous.
Kemal, an idealistic civil engineer living in this quaint coastal town, burns with the desire to protect his community and his inherited family home from Noyan. He finds himself part of a much larger game when he starts working for Noyan’s greatest rival. Torn between his mother’s and sick sister’s desire for peace and comfort, and the pressure to marry, Kemal tries to forge his own path.
When Noyan’s pregnant wife Meral is left paralyzed and loses her baby due to an accident at the construction site where Memduh works, Noyan becomes determined to exact revenge, despite Memduh’s insistence that all precautions had been taken. Demanding Dünya’s life in exchange for the son he lost, Noyan forces Memduh into a desperate position, especially after his granddaughter is kidnapped.
When Dünya bravely confronts Noyan to save her family, Idil’s affection for her spares her life. However, she is forced to live in the mansion as if imprisoned, taking care of Meral and Idil, and cut off from all contact with her family. Sinan, driven by his conscience, falls in love with Dünya while trying to protect her, but when Pelin moves into the mansion, life only becomes more difficult for. The family’s long-time housekeeper, Perihan, believes Dünya has brought misfortune into the home, while the young maid Leyla becomes her only friend. When Dünya and Kemal’s paths cross during a visit to the mansion, the seeds of an important alliance to bring down Noyan will be sown.
