Tricolor, Russia’s largest satellite television operator, has launched the sports news program produced entirely with the help of artificial intelligence. Titled “Myach Novostnoy” («News Ball»), the weekly show is broadcast on Tricolor’s in-house sports channel Myach and marks a significant shift in how broadcast content is created and delivered.
The program’s production cycle — from scriptwriting to visual presentation — is fully powered by AI technologies, requiring only two human staff members: an editor and a video technician. The show is anchored by a virtual avatar modeled after a real employee. The avatar’s facial expressions, movements, and voice are all generated using AI, providing a realistic and engaging viewer experience without the need for a physical studio.
According to Marina Bogomolova, General Producer of Tricolor Sport, the project reflects the company’s strategy to embrace cutting-edge technologies in media production. “Artificial intelligence allows us to produce content faster and more cost-effectively while maintaining high editorial standards,” she said.
«Myach Novostnoy» airs every Thursday at 12:00 on the Myach channel, available to Tricolor subscribers via satellite and online, as well as through various cable providers across Russia.
