This October, the Russian OTT platform Amediateka adds a notable title to its anime catalogue with the exclusive premiere of “Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle” («Chitose-kun wa Ramune Bin no Naka»), marking the first official release of the highly anticipated high school drama for Russian audiences.

Based on the popular light novel by Hiromu, “Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle” dives deep into the complexities of popularity, social perception, and identity within the emotional landscape of modern high school life.

At the heart of the story is Saku Chitose, a seemingly perfect student who has it all — looks, charm, leadership skills, and a loyal group of friends. At school, he’s a charismatic figure respected by classmates and trusted by teachers. But online, his name has become a magnet for abuse. “Womanizer” is one of the milder labels thrown his way by anonymous critics hiding behind their screens.

Behind Saku’s confident façade lies a more intricate reality. While admired in person, his popularity comes with pressure — the expectations, the public scrutiny, and the isolation that fame can bring.

The storyline takes a dramatic turn when Saku is asked to help a reclusive classmate — a socially withdrawn student whose experience is the polar opposite of Saku’s. This unexpected encounter forces Saku to confront sides of himself and his world he’s never examined. It’s a story that challenges stereotypes and asks tough questions about how we judge others — both online and off.

With vibrant animation and sharp emotional insight, “Chitose Is in the Ramune Bottle” offers a rare blend of teenage drama and social commentary, making it one of the standout anime titles of the season.

Season 1 will be available on Amediateka starting October 2025, subtitled and dubbed for Russian viewers.
