The Mexican series “El extraño retorno de Diana Salazar” (2024-2025), produced by W Studios for TelevisaUnivision, will make its exclusive Russian debut on the OTT platform IVI, which is set to premiere seasons two and three on 24th September 2025.
A remake of the 1988 telenovela created by Mario Cruz, the production stars Angelique Boyer and Sebastián Rulli. The first season premiered on ViX in May 2024, followed by the second in January 2025 and the third and final season in April 2025.
The story centers on Diana Salazar, a young doctor in Mexico City with a fascination for mysticism. She becomes obsessed with the fate of Leonor de Santiago, a woman from the 17th century who, according to legend, possessed supernatural powers. Diana’s life takes a dramatic turn when she begins to experience terrifyingly vivid dreams of death. Seeking answers, Diana turns to Joaquín, a psychotherapist who suggests sessions of therapeutic hypnosis. During these sessions, she discovers that she is the reincarnation of Leonor de Santiago. From that moment, her everyday world begins to unravel as she encounters ever-stronger mystical connections that span centuries.
In the upcoming episodes, Leonor and Eduardo’s forbidden love takes a tragic turn with the arrival of Count Lucas de Treviño, intertwining their destinies and deepening the series’ blend of melodrama and mystery.
