On 13th February, “The Colors Within” (original title: “Kimi no Iro”), a new anime directed by Naoko Yamada, known for “K-ON!” and “A Silent Voice”, will be released in theaters across Russia and the CIS.
The film released by Moscow based theatrical distributor Russian Report.
The story follows Totsuko, a high school student who possesses the unique ability to see the “colors” of people’s emotions. She attends a mission school in Nagasaki and strives to keep her friends and family from experiencing negative feelings by carefully navigating social situations, sometimes even resorting to lies. At an antique bookshop, she encounters a beautiful woman with an incredibly captivating aura and a music-loving boy aiming to form a band.
The film has been praised for its delicate animation and heartfelt storytelling, offering a unique exploration of synesthesia and the emotional landscapes of its characters.
All the tracks have been translated and re-recorded in Russian to provide a deeper connection to the characters for Russian-speaking audiences.
