The series about the beautiful Eastern woman Jade will air on the Saturday! TV Channel starting 3rd February, on weekdays at 19:00.

Jade, who lives in Rio de Janeiro, becomes an orphan after her mother’s death. She is forced to move to Morocco, where her uncle Ali resides, and adapt to a new way of life. Uncle Ali believes that marriage will help his niece embrace Muslim traditions. However, the young woman begins a real battle against everything imposed on her. Meanwhile, Dr. Albieri, devastated by the loss of his godson Diogo in a car accident, decides to give him a new life through cloning in his laboratory. The fates of this young man and Jade will soon intertwine.

The series was filmed in Brazil, Morocco, and the Sahara Desert. The scorching desert climate proved to be a challenge for the crew, equipment, and even footwear, which melted under the sun.

The director wanted everything in the series to be authentic, so the actresses had to learn belly dancing, while the actors studied the Quran and trained in Eastern gestures.

After filming the series, lead actors Giovanna Antonelli (Jade) and Murilo Benício (Lucas) got married and had a son.

The show’s famous soundtrack, titled “Urga”, was composed by Russian composer Eduard Artemyev.

Globo’s “The Clone” remains the most expensive production by the company (even more costly than “Slave Isaura” and “Tropical Paradise!”), and adaptation rights for the series have been sold to 93 countries worldwide.

Especially for its broadcast on Saturday!, the series has been remastered in HD and adapted to the modern 16:9 television format.
