A captivating blend of humor and history, the Turkish comedy “Son of a Rich: Magnificent Century”, an adaptation of Russia’s highest-grossing comedy, is heading to Russian cinemas. Produced by Kunay Film and facilitated by Yellow, Black and White studio alongside TV Channel Russia, the film promises to bring laughter and cultural intrigue to Russian audiences.
The star-studded cast includes Turkish cinema icon Kerem Bürsin, beloved for his role as Serkan Bolat in the hit series “Love is in the Air.” Bürsin takes on the role of Meta, a spoiled heir from Istanbul who is transported to an Ottoman city in the 16th century for a lesson in humility and self-discovery.
The Turkish adaptation retains the original’s concept of re-educating privileged characters but adds a historical twist. Filming, set to begin in June, will take place in iconic locations from “Magnificent Century” and “Ertugrul”, with acclaimed Turkish director Onur Ünlü leading the project.
Distributed by Central Partnership, part of the Gazprom-Media group, the film will premiere in Russia on 23rd January, setting the stage for another Turkish cinematic success in the region. With its blend of humor, historical charm, and star power, “Son of a Rich: Magnificent Century” is poised to win over Russian audiences.
