Central Partnership, one of Russia’s leading production and distribution companies, has announced the release of the Turkish comedy “Son of a Rich. Magnificent Century,” produced by Kunay Film.
In Russia, the film will debut with the support of Yellow, Black and White Studio and the TV channel Russia, with distribution managed by Central Partnership.
Starring Kerem Bürsin—adored by Russian audiences for his roles in globally acclaimed hits like “Waiting for the Sun” and “Love Is in the Air”—the story follows Mete, a pampered heir reveling in luxury while shirking responsibility.
This Turkish adaptation of Russia’s top-grossing comedy “Holop” explores social inequality and the transformation of an entitled elite. The narrative takes a twist as Mete, a wealthy heir from Istanbul, is transported to a 16th-century Ottoman town. Directed by Onur Ünlü, the film skillfully intertwines drama and humor, offering a fresh perspective on Ottoman history and contemporary themes.
The film will be released in Russian theaters on 23th January 2025.
