Azzurri. The Italian Dream at UEFA EURO 2020

Synopsis: With “Azzurri”, for the first time in the long and winning story of the national team, the public will have the opportunity to enter Coverciano, to follow the athletes from their arrival, to join the meetings between staff and team. The RAI cameras were with them during training and in moments of relaxation, traveling with the Azzurri, living alongside them in the locker room before the game, in the stands and after the matches. The documentary discovers the people who contribute to the achievement of sporting results and faces the themes and values of sport: from human relationships to courage, from fear to redemption.

A ten-month journey, which began in September 2020 and continue until the eve of the opening race of the 2020 European Championship, a journey that will also be a sort of ‘athletic preparation’ for the public, up to entering the field alongside the team starting with the opening match of Uefa 2020 against Turkey.

It is not only a sports story, but also a human one, made up of many stories. Like that of the great friendship between the coach Roberto Mancini and his staff, made up of lifelong companions, such as Gianluca Vialli and the other ‘boys’ of his Sampdoria and recently extended to the 2006 world champion Daniele De Rossi.
